It was a close vote of 196-173 to kill a censure against Rep Pete Stark. Censure my ass, if anything they should be giving the man a medal for honesty in a place where honesty is never seen. Instead, he backs down, says he’s sorry and life goes on as it always does in the never-never land of the United States House of Representatives
I am against the war, have been since before Bush decided to lie to the American people and bully his way into Iraq in the first place. It was only a matter of time before Junior finished what Daddy started. Now it may fall into the hands of his grand kids to put an end to it. We are still in Korea, after all, fifty years after anything serious has happened there.
But I guess I understand the whole Censure thing, Respect the Office even if you don’t Respect the Man. It’s getting hard to have any respect for any of it.
Cindy Sheehan seems to agree with me. I didn’t find anyone right off hand that thought he was really out of line, well, maybe That Polictical Blog didn’t like it too much. A CNN poll showed that 88% of those polled thought Pete Stark should not have apologized. My Bush will get around to apologizing one of these days for the whole mess. Nah, even Bush isn’t that stupid.
