Britney Spears losing custody of her two sons to her former husband Kevin Federline is not all that shocking. Just watch entertainment shows and read tabloid accounts of her seemingly endless desire to act like an idiot. But the sad fact of the matter is that there are millions of idiots raising children in America. As a portrait photographer I see a lot of people with kids I wouldn’t trust to watch a goldfish for the weekend. But they are not gazillionaires and no one is jumping up and down demanding they become better parents. Well, maybe Dr Phil is jumping up and down demanding they become better parents, but no one really listens to Dr Phil, do they?
So the question here has to be is Kevin Federline, one of those men among the rich and famous that is neither rich nor famous, better for the kids than Britney Spears? I guess he does have a lot of free time on his hands where he could take care of the kids. Still, Britney Spears is the mother, and she has more money than God. So can’t she hire someone to drive her kids around and take care her them for her? Oh, right, Britney can pay for the kids care while Keven has them, can’t she?
My favorite of the I Hate Britney Spears quotes from the past few days:
Andrea Peyser, a columnist for the New York Post: “That shameless, panty-less, gum-snapping, head-shaving, alcohol-swilling, drug-seeking pop slut Britney Spears is unfit to raise grass, let alone kids.”
Perez Hilton also had some unkind words for Britney Spears:
“Britney Spears lost custody of her two children on Monday because she’s a f***-up that can’t obey the law,” Hilton ranted. “What planet does she live on????“
Judge Scott Gordon said Spears had a history of “habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol” and ordered her to undergo random drug tests, one of which she has already missed.
Britney Spears uses drugs and alcohol? Next thing you’ll tell me is that she lip syncs her songs when she’s on stage.
Britney Spears an Unfit Parent? There’s a Shocker
