The AeroGarden by AeroGrow

The AeroGarden is the world’s first indoor smart garden – It’s so easy to use that anyone, with or without gardening experience can grow lush, beautiful gardens right in your home! A general hydroponics garden on a tabletop. Cool.

The AeroGarden is one of those nice items that you rarely find: a general hydroponics garden that does what it advertises it will do. The AeroGarden easy to set up, requires almost no maintenance, and quickly grows plants without your having to know anything about how to grow plants: just follow the AeroGarden directions and the plants grow.

The computerized AeroGarden tells you when to add water and hydroponic nutrients. The built-in micro-processor automatically adjusts hydroponic nutrients delivery and water flow and turns grow lights on and off to simulate the sun. It is very bright, so be sure to put it somewhere where you won’t mind having your own personal sun burning 17 hours a day. The AeroGarden waters your plants and turns the lights on and off based on the setting. Add the hydroponic nutrients plan and you have some of the fastest growing plants out there.

Some of the specs: the AeroGarden takes a standard plug, instead of a 3 prong, so it can plug the AeroGarden in anywhere instead of just the kitchen. The AeroGarden bowl holds 14 cups of water. That’s one pint shy of a gallon. The light goes on for 15 1/2 hours to 17 hours depending on the plants growing in the AeroGarden, and the water goes over the roots & sponge for thirsty plants.

You have to hand polinate the tomatoes & peppers every other day when flowering, and the Peppers & International basil require you wash out the bowls every 4 weeks, but otherwise there is very little maintenance with the AeroGarden. A light comes on the AeroGarden when the water is low and another light comes on when the 2 weeks are up and the plants need more hydroponic nutrients, other than that you can pretty much forget the AeroGarden.
The hydroponic nutrients are different for each plant and come in 2 to 4 sets in a kit. You give 2 hydroponic nutrients tablets every 2 weeks. Aerogrow guarantees their AeroGarden kits will sprout as described, or you can call them & they will replace their AeroGarden kits.
