Taylor Bradford Shot Dead

News from Memphis, where defensive lineman Taylor Bradford was shot and killed. In an e-mail sent out to students and faculty, university officials wrote: ‘’the initial investigation indicates this was an act directed specifically toward the victim and was not a random act of violence.”
Taylor Bradford was shot at about 9:45 p.pm in a parking lot, he got in his car but didn’t make it very far before crashing into a tree. Taylor Bradford was taken to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis but later died.
“Our entire football team is deeply saddened by the loss of Taylor,” said head coach Tommy West. “He was well respected and a popular member of our team. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”
Taylor Bradford, a junior transfer from Samford University, had not played this season for the Tigers. Memphis will have a moment of silence in Taylor Bradford’s honor prior to its home game against Marshall on Tuesday.
“Taylor was my brother,” Bradford’s friend and fraternity brother Will Terrell told the University of Memphis Daily Helmsman by phone from the hospital. “We will miss him dearly. He will be remembered. He loved to play football. He loved his family, he loved his friends and he loved Kappa. He was always full of innovation and ideas. If you were around him, you were going to have a good time.”
