RachelRay.Com and Rachel’s Vacations

Decide what it is that you are and then stay true to that thing. My brand is based very much on how I live my day-to-day life.–Rachel Ray

Rachel Ray has signed a two-year agreement for a new prime-time series called Rachel’s Vacation. Having to work on 60 new episodes per year of 30 Minute Meals isn’t enough for Rachel Ray’s plate. Rachel Ray will star in the new travel series in which cameras will follow her around the world.

I wonder if she will be eating the same kinds of things as chefs turned globetrotters Anthony Bourdan and Andrew Zimmern-no wait, those guys are on the Travel Channel, not the Food Network, so Rachel Ray should be safe from eating bugs and getting too drunk to stand up. But it might be something for Rachel Ray to think about in the future.

RachelRay.Com is a good website. I like the layout and all the little boxes and photos that make up the main page of rachelray.com. There is a link from RachelRay.com to RachelRayShow.com where you can sign up for their newsletter and then you are allowed to enter to win Rachel Ray giveaways. There is a long list of item that Rachel Ray is giving away through Club RR. There are also lists her book signings, and a little place where you can Rachel Ray a question.

Rachelray.com has all the stuff you would expect, recipes, advice, photos, and links to her show and Yum-o, her nonprofit group for promoting healthy relationships between kids and food. Like all such sites, Rachelray.com has too much info here to ever put it all to use. But if you want to find a resturant that Rachel Ray likes or get one of her recipes, there are easy enough ways to find them.

There is a Blog tab at the top of Rachelray.com, and there are a lot of posts of one sort or another there. Lots of people blogging, Rachel Ray seems a bit too busy with her book tour to do much blogging herself. But she has quite a few posts in Rach’s Blog. Not surprisingly the Rach Blog gets the bulk of the comments, many of them of I Love You, Rachel sort. I look forward to seeing The Rach Blog once she starts jetting around the world. Maybe it will help her to pass a spare minute or two on some of those long flights.
