Just tooling around the Google Images for Pumpkins lead me to a lot of really cool carved pumpkins. One really struck me as amazing though, it was of a Predator carved from a giant pumpkin. I found a very similar carved predator pumpkin on Pumpkin Gutter, which has some pretty freakin amazing pumpkins. These are not traditional carved pumps, but more like sculptures made from pumpkins. I liked the Spock pumpkin better than the Predator one.
The Wife has done the Pumpkin Masters type of carving over the years and made some pretty cool ones. I don’t have the patience to sit there and do all the work with the odd little tools. She seems to like it though.
The great thing about the Pumpkin Master templates is that pretty much anyone can do them and they still look pretty good. The stuff at Pumpkin Gutter looks like a lot of work for something that ends up being thrown away. But the creator of these pumpkins says he only spends an hour or two making them and that he doesn’t bother with the patterns. I think it would take me a lot longer, as I would have to learn how to sculpt first.
Of course, pumpkins are not really meant to be fine art, though I think it is clear they can be. I also like the silly pumpkins. These are not from Pumpkin Gutter, but I like them anyway.
I love the pie 🙂
Took me a minute to get the joke when I first saw one of these.
I love the death star.
Happy haloween to everyone!
I also have a question. What are the little rate this hands, are the stumble?
As part of my Entrecard blogging efforts I signed up for a comment rating system called Sezwho-that is what the little hands are about. The idea is for people in the network to rank each others comments and get points on Entrecard for them.
It has been one more pointless add on to my blog.
