Peter Jackson’s King Kong The Worst Movie Ever

Right, I have seen both Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and Plan Nine from Outer Space, and they are bad movies. But let’s be honest, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is not a real movie, it is more of a class project that should not have seen the light of day. As for Plan Nine, well, it was a super low budget movie and well, just silly. But Peter Jackson’s King Kong wins the crown as the Worst Movie Ever because it did cost so much, starred real actors, was directed by someone who should have known better and put out by a major studio. In other words, this movie sucked when it should not have sucked, so it has no excuses for being The Worse Movie Ever!

The Original King Kong was the story a film maker looking for something new and he found it. It was a heart breaking story, and like all the Universal horror films that followed it, the monster in the film was the most sympathetic character. It was a great film and the effects were amazing for their time. It’s easy to see why this was Peter Jackson’s favorite film. It is not so easy to see why he wanted to ruin it by re-making it again.

Peter Jackson’s King Kong is at least an hour and half too long. Entire sequences of this film are pointless and do nothing to advance the plot, such as it is. Some of these scenes are just annoying, like the opening of the film where our blond bombshell has her theater closed down-who cares? Others are disgusting for the sake of being disgusting-what was the point of that scene were giant maggots eat most of the crew? Another pointless scene has herds of dinosaurs chasing our inept movie maker, why did he need three T-Rex and countless Brontosaurus for this? If it was to impress, it did no such thing. Every frame of this film has some effect, like Lucas, Jackson never saw a CGI he didn’t like. I saw plenty.

After endless hours of pointless and disgusting CGI, King Kong dies and nobody gives a rat’s ass. There is no emotional tie to this computer generated toy. It is an absolute disgrace that this dog won an Academy Award. This is nothing more than a special effects trailer, and a bad one at that. If you haven’t seen it, count your blessings.
