Orkut-Haters and Lovers

Orkut is a facebook clone owned by Google. I recently joined to take a look, after wandering around the web a bit I found that there are a lot of Haters on Orkut-over a 1000 seems to be all I can find on the number. Hate Club got a return of 676. These Haters on Orkut are mostly pretty silly, as in I Hate Homework, I Hate Harry Potter, a whole world of school related hating, such as tests, exams, chemistry, and so on. Then there are the more serious Haters, who seem to be really into soccer, politics, cricket, and movie stars. There are also a lot of Haters of Haters. It’s hard for me to get too worked about Hate Clubs, these people don’t seem to be out burning churches or lynching people. The biggest Hate Club on Orkut-249,120 members, is I Hate To Wake Up Early, well, who doesn’t? Haters on Orkut are like haters in the real world.

Lovers on Orkut are also well represented, again over a 1000. Love Clubs got a return of 198, so I guess there are a lot more Haters than Lovers on Orkut. Number one for Lovers? I love my Mom!! 298,109 members. The Lovers are just as silly as the haters, with things like I love my name, I love chocloate, I love my Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Family. Just as the Haters seem to hate all the normal things you’d expect people to hate, the Lovers are also a pretty pridictable lot.

Haters hate traffic, long lines, and being sick, Lovers love candy, ice cream, and sleeping. Interesting that there is a group of Chemistry Lovers and a group of Chemistry Haters. The Lovers on Orkut do seem to be a bit more fun than the haters. Maybe its just more fun to read what happy people have to say, and nod to yourself, hey, I Love KFC, too! Its seems a lot easier to hate movie star, atheletes, and politicans than it is to love them. Or maybe that isn’t Orkut, it’s just me.
