Fans of Micheal Vick have to be happy about the bridge collapse as it is the only story anyone is covering at the moment. This does not mean people are no longer interested in the Atlanta Quarterback who rushed for a thousand yards last year. It might be assumed that he will not play this year, and it might be a good idea if he doesn’t. But neither the team nor the league has told him to stay off the field. Yet. The team can suspend him for four games after his current league suspension from training camp. Then we get down to the serious business of whether he should be cut from the team and whether any other team would even bother trying to sign him. Again, all this before a day of the trail has even started.
Vick could cop a plea, admit to some lessor charges and get on with his life-a life without the NFL, as any admission of guilt would pretty much be the finial nail in his coffin. So he has to stand trail. Too bad it isn’t in California where just being rich and famous is enough to get away with pretty much anything.
The Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP have both come out in suppose of Micheal saying that we should not all be rushing to judgment. Due process should be allowed to happen. PETA and the Humane Society seem more on the shoot first and ask questions later side. Actions that are pretty much SOP for both PETA and the NAACP, they support their core, no matter what. Micheal Vick is not affiliated with the NAACP and I’m sure he wishes he was not in the sights of PETA. No one is in favor of dogfighting, but a lot people seem to be the opinion that Micheal Vick is being railroaded by the media.
Hall of Famer Gale Sayers has joined the ranks of those that say Vick should be punished if the allegations are true.
“If he did it, why?” Sayers asks. “If it’s true, I feel very, very sorry for Michael. It’s too bad.” reported USA Today.
I’ll agree with Bryan Burwell on this one, I think Micheal Vick is a damned fool.
