In the corner of an image from NASA’s Spirit Rover is what looks like the same Bigfoot that was captured in that grainy video from 1967. Most of the reports on this possible life on Mars refer to the figure as a woman. Seeing a human figure on Mars is like seeing Jesus in a potato chip- it’s just one of things the human brain is good at doing.
While the Face on Mars and Pyramids on Mars looked eroded and ancient, this human figure on Mars image has sharper lines and looks much more like a person. At least, from this angel and in this light. Which was the problem with the Face on Mars, it couldn’t be found again.
Life on Mars has been a popular idea for a long time, the notion that we are alone in the universe being a slightly silly one. In fact, not finding a human figure on Mars might be a bigger story. It was easy enough for people to believe Lowell when he said he saw canals and visualized a complex civilization on Mars dealing with global warming on a massive scale. The canals are like this human figure on Mars-a woman sitting on a rock-life on Mars is there, if you want to see it.
Even if it isn’t life on Mars, the human figure on Mars is an interesting image. A complex rock formation like this requires water and wind to give it that organic look. Most of the images from Mars lack not only signs of life on Mars, but signs of much of anything-other than random rocks in fields. Of course, it may just be that we have much better tech now than we used to and the images are only going to get better. We will see more human figures on Mars.
Still, if it is life on Mars, what would that mean to us anyway? If there are statues to be found, doesn’t that just prove that their used to be life on Mars? Still, it does seem that the last few probes met with mysterious ends as they entered Mars atmosphere. Were they shot down my some life on Mars that doesn’t want us bothering them?
It is a pretty cool picture, even if there were no human figure on mars, that might be life on mars, hiding in it like Waldo.
