Josie Smith Malave, former contestant on the reality show “Top Chef” was beaten on Long Island by attackers yelling anti-gay slurs. It seems that Josie Smith Malave and a small group of women were asked to leave a Sea Cliff bar over Labor Day weekend, where they were followed by ten young people who spat on them and beat them up.
Josie Smith-Malave is a 31-year old Sous Chef of Marlow and Sons in New York City. She comes from Miami, Florida and is currently residing in Brooklyn. She is a member of the NY Sharks women’s professional football team and is aggressive in the kitchen as she is on the field.
She became part of Bravo’s reality cooking contest Top Chef Season 2 as one of the contestants. She was voted out in episode 5.
Senator Craig can tell you how popular it is to be gay in American, and so far as we can tell, he isn’t even gay. But he may be one of those men that just likes to have sex with men once in a while. Josie Smith Malave is openly gay and that can still get you into trouble, especially with a group of drunks of think they have the moral high ground.
Maybe we will one day live in that world that Rodney King dreamed of where we can all just get along, but I have my doubts that it will be anytime soon.
