The Perfect Season didn’t quite happen. The Giants beat the Patriots 17-14 in one of the slowest moving games I ever watched. It came down to the wire and there was still a chance for the Patriots to pull this one out of the fire as they had so many others this season. But the NFL record breaking stopped in Super Bowl 42.
For me, the best part of the game was the reaction shots of Peyton Manning, one of the best near the start of the game where he is making a big circle with his hand telling Eli to pick up the pace before they got a Delay of Game penalty. Peyton looked pretty grim through most of the game, but was all smiles when his little brother Eli threw the winning touchdown.
I would like to think that The Dallas Cowboys could have beaten the unstoppable New England Patriots, but they would have rolled right over them.
The Fox Sports Robot had a cute running gag where he was fighting The Terminator from The Sarah Connors Chronicles, when it looked he was beaten, a couple of other Fox Bots showed up to help.
As far as the commercials, they were the usual much hyped, but not all that great ads we have come to expect. The talking baby was kind of cute, and it was fun watching Justin Timberlake get tossed around, but most of the ads were kind of pointless. The Bud Light makes you fly ad was just creepy. The Thriller Geckos was cool, but I am afraid there are too many people who never saw the Michael Jackson video and didn’t get the joke. For a change, the game was really good and the ads were just ads.
