It appears that in the new trailer, J.J. Abrams unnamed film, code named Cloverfield, Slusho, Cheese, Monstrous, Terrifying, Cloveleaf, Furious, to be released on 1-18-08 is in fact going to be called– Cloverfield. The first and the most boring of all the names that have been floating around all these months. But that’s alright, at least we have a new trailer to look at. I like the fact that Lady Liberty is missing an arm as well as her head now. I like the bit at the start of the trailer where it says ‘the area formerly known as Central Park‘ We have more stuff blowing up and more people running around with jittery cameras. I like it.
On the nearly forgotten 1-18-08.com there is a new photo, I don’t how long it has been there, but it is a photo of a man who seems to be very happy cooking something. When this image is flipped over there is a lot of Japanese script which seems to correspond to the symbols on the Slusho website. There are nine symbols listed, but only eight buttons up on Slusho at the moment. The number 3912 appears in one corner. I’m guess that it says You Can’t Drink Just Six! in there somewhere.
On the Jamie and Teddy front, password jllovesth, our pretty heroine has learned to do some stripper dancing. She dances to some music by The Glass Helmets, Teddy’s favorite band. She talks about the cause and how she is now all about the cause. But I was much more interested in The Glass Helmets. While at first this seems like a bad idea for a road trip, it didn’t take too long to realize that just about every bad sci fi movie from the 1950s had people wearing spacesuits with glass helmets. Kodos and Kang are pretty much the stereotypical space aliens wearing glass helmets these days.
Not surprisingly there is a Myspace page on The Glass Helmets-The Glass Helmets bring together many disparate elements of the global metal scene into a sound that is fierce, often grandiose, but still earnest. Ok, good to know that.
1-18-08 Project Cloverfield has some pretty cool images and lots of other stuff. That’s it for this Slusho, 1-18-08, Cloverfield Update.
