Claus Porto Soaps

These creamy, fragrant, gorgeously wrapped soaps from Portugal now come in small discs. Give them to a hostess, who can bestow them on her lucky guests.” —Oprah
Claus Porto Soaps are one of Oprah’s “Favorite Things” To ensure lasting, consistent fragrance and ultra creamy lather, these Claus Porto soaps are finely milled eight times. Each Claus Porto soap is molded and pressed by hand, then aged in an old-fashioned drying room, resulting in a denser, longer-lasting bar. Citron verbena is particularly popular with men (but women like it, too!).
Lafco’s Claus Porto collection redefines bathroom chic. These oversized Claus Porto soaps and luxurious bath foams and salts are renowned for their gorgeous, brightly colored, art deco wrappings. Each of the eight Claus Porto motifs corresponds to a scent and was inspired by one-of-a-kind vintage prints discovered in a Portuguese printing house

Established in 1887 in Porto, Portugal, the Ach Brito Company is the oldest family owned soap and perfume manufacturer in Portugal. Until the 1960’s Ach Brito specialized in producing soaps and perfumes for the wealthiest of Porto’s merchant families. The Claus Porto products were made and packaged specifically for certain families. The bath products produced in this factory are still made today, using the same turn of the century methods and techniques.
