Torchwood Season Two

James Marsters-Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s Spike-has a role in Season Two of Torchwood. For those not in the know, Torchwood is a spin-off of Dr Who and features the sexual adventures of Captain Jack Harkness. There was a lot of sex talk last season, the most baffling being about the Many Uses of a Stopwatch. So it is no real surprise that Captain Jack greets his old Time Corp buddy with a full on kiss. The Pansexual Captain Jack is Captain Kirk taken to it’s logical extreme-he will shag anything that moves, and does so as often as possible. Ok,…

Eli Stone-Law and Order Meets Joan of Arcadia

Cause I gotta have faith… Mmm, I gotta have faith ‘Cause I gotta have faith, faith, Mm ’cause I gotta have faith-a-faith-a-faith George Michael Eli Stone is a fun show, I liked all the visions and the acupuncture doctor and his secretary. I like the way the flashbacks are worked into the story with the acupuncture treatments. It’s fun how our hero turns from a greedy, evil, money grubbing lawyer into a bleeding heart that will take cases for no pay. But the show, at least after one episode, is not as good as two other shows with supernatural heroes.…

Puffin -It’s Not Just For Breakfast Anymore

This is the single worst thing I have ever put in my mouth-Anthony Bourdain on fermented shark eaten in Iceland. Anthony Bourdain is my favorite celebrity chef. For one thing, he doesn’t have to bother with actually cooking stuff anymore. And his tv shows are not about cooking, they are about traveling the world and eating great food, not so great food, and just plain weird food. I was watching a re-run of the Iceland show on the Travel Channel and here was our hero eating Puffin, fermented shark, and head cheese. Worst meal ever-coming from Tony that has to…

Dude Bud Light DUDE Football

The new Bud Light commercials that feature one of the shortest catchphrases in history has a fairly hapless couple of Dudes wandering around a football game saying Dude over and over again. The Bud Light commercials have been great for years, all the way back to the Give Me A Light-No, A Bud Light. This Bud Light Commercial is a bit more subtle that the ones that feature a lot of bud light signs, bud light neon signs, andBud Light logos. We only see a few shots of Bud Light bottles and then get a nice shot of the Bud…

Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is looking like it will be a good show. There are tons of cool images that go with the show and it looks like the effects are going to be pretty good. I saw the trailer of The Terminator at a Star Trek Convention. The general feeling that Arnold was the perfect actor to play an emotionless, inarticulate robot proved to be right. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will have a pretty woman playing the Terminator-Summer Glau. She was the crazy girl on Firefly, though she has done a lot more than that. The Terminator…

Odyssey 5 A Good Sci Fi Show

We saw the Earth destroyed, and in a heartbeat everything and everyone we knew was gone. –opening voice over for Odyssey 5 Odyssey 5 was one of those Sci Fi shows that popped up on Showtime in 2002 and was canceled before they aired it. Like The Outer Limits while it aired on Showtime, we are treated to a slightly more adult brand of science fiction here. These were science fiction shows that harked back to the good old days-naked women and aliens that want to eat us and take over the world. Oh yeah, and a lot of swearing.…

Dexter Season 2 Finale-Damn That Was Good

Everything has been leading up to this. Doakes and his obsession with Dexter Morgan’s murderous side. Lila and her obsession with Dexter Morgan’s murderous side. The solving of the Bay Harbor Butcher case. Dexter’s on again, off again relationship with a normal woman and her two overly cute kids. Everything that we all thought was going to happen, happens. But it is still totally and completely shocking to see how it happens. The opening of Dexter is a montage of the average American Serial Killer getting ready for his day. Shaving, getting dressed, fixing his morning meal. They have a little…
